Fresh Ingredients and Farmer Relationships

Chef David Ferragamo loves bringing the freshest ingredients to the table. He personally visits local farms to build relationships with the farmers and check out the produce himself. By seeing how things are grown and raised up close, David makes sure he's using top-notch ingredients while also supporting local agriculture.

 

Maine Farmers' Markets:

  1. Portland Farmers' Market: One of the oldest public markets in the country, offering a variety of local produce, meats, and handmade goods. Held on Wednesdays and Saturdays from April to November.

  2. Belfast Farmers' Market: Operating since 1980, this market offers a wide variety of produce, cheese, baked goods, meats, syrup, flowers, and more. Held outdoors during the warmer months and indoors during the winter.

  3. Bath Farmers' Market: Located on Bath’s Waterfront during warmer months and moves indoors to Bath’s Freight Shed in the winter. Open year-round on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

  4. Boothbay Farmers' Market: Featuring local farmers and artisans, this market operates from May to October on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

  5. Brewer Farmers' Market: Open from mid-May to October on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, this market offers a diverse range of local goods.

  6. Brunswick Farmers' Market: One of the oldest in Maine, held on the Brunswick Town Mall. Open May to November on Tuesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  7. Union Farmers' Market: Located at Union Common, this market runs from May to October on Fridays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

  8. Camden Farmers' Market: Offers fresh produce, meats, dairy products, and crafts. Open from May to October on Saturdays and mid-June to September on Wednesdays.

  9. York Gateway Farmers' Market: Features local farmers, specialty food producers, and crafters. Open from May to October on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and biweekly during the winter.

  10. Orono Farmers' Market: Provides fresh local produce, artisan bread, and more. Open Saturdays and Tuesdays from May to November.

  1. Coventry Farmers' Market, CT: Located at the Nathan Hale Homestead, this market offers organic produce, grass-fed beef, homemade pesto, and more. Open Sundays from June to October.

  2. Burlington Farmers' Market, VT: Situated in City Hall Park, this market features over 90 vendors selling seasonal produce, flowers, crafts, and prepared foods. Open Saturdays from May to October.

  3. Salem Farmers Market, NH: A year-round market with local produce, honey, cheeses, and more, featuring events like cooking demonstrations and children’s entertainment. Open Sundays.

  4. Boston Public Market, MA: A year-round indoor market with goods from over 40 local vendors, including produce, seafood, and baked goods. Open daily.

  5. Copley Square Farmers Market, MA: One of Boston’s largest markets, located in the heart of the city. Open Tuesdays and Fridays from May to November.

  6. South Kingstown Farmers Market, RI: Named one of the best in America, this market offers a wide selection of local produce, meats, and baked goods. Open Saturdays from May to October.

  7. Westport Farmers' Market, CT: Offers produce, eggs, meat, seafood, and more from over 45 vendors. Open Thursdays from May to November.
